For female students and students who have embarked on a gender transition path, some moments of the university course, such as exam appeals, can become an occasion of discomfort due to the evident contrast between the external appearance and the name that emerges. An embarrassment that can lead to the renouncement of university enrolment at the end of high school or the abandonment of university studies by those who are already enrolled. In order to prevent these occasions of discomfort and to promote the well-being of all, the Politecnico has provided that in these cases it is possible to acquire an "alias identity", i.e. to use a name different from the name in the only interactions with the University, for example, on the occasion of appeals, booking and registration of exams.
With the request of the new alias the student obtains:
- a new badge, in case of registration already occurred;
- a double personal identification card, in case of new registration;
- a double institutional e-mail.
Once the legal procedure is completed, the University will consider the alias as the only profile.
