The Giuriati is the heart of Sport at the Politecnico di Milano. The centre was inaugurated today, 14 May, after having been completely renovated and is ready to become not only a place of sharing and integration for students and the Politecnico community, but also for all the citizens of Milan.

Within its 36,000 square metres of floor space, the Sports Centre, located on the Leonardo Campus of the Milan Polytechnic, has been refurbished in the name of technological innovation and energy sustainability to accommodate 12 practicable disciplines, such as basketball, football and padel courts, as well as an open-air area equipped for free-body gymnastics.

The C.S. Giuriati was built in 1931 and houses a rugby field, an athletics track and various spaces for athletics disciplines, as well as a 1,000-seat covered grandstand and two five-a-side football pitches; since 2008 it has been the home of the Milan Polytechnic's sports facilities and in 2019 new works have begun to make the Sports Centre the beating heart of sports activities not only for the students and employees of the Milan Polytechnic, but also for the entire population.

Another work that will become part of the new campus project to build the Milan of the future together!

"We have the issue of wellbeing very much on our minds, also in relation to sport: you can do sport anywhere, but when you can do it in a new place like this, it's a different story" Giuseppe Sala, Mayor of Milan
